Ok well I've been contemplating changing the blog addy for a while now to reflect the blog title. It's a shorter addy too sooooo...I'll keep this addy open for a week or so....maybe two but if you could change in your favorites to http://atstudioj.blogspot.com/ that would be great! I've already transfered everything over there and all the posts and comments and everything are there just like they were here...but have posted some challenge links to this one...from now on it will be the @studioj blog:)

I did this card for a friend and I used the Get Sketchy #69 card sketch and I used the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge PPA76.

PPA 76 is to use Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum, and Pear Pizzazz

and GS69 sketch:)

I started with a 5 1/2"x 5 1/2" base of Baja Breeze then a 5 1/4"x 5 1/4" layer of Perfect Plum and then a

5" x 5"layer of Greenhouse Gala DSP with Pear Pizzazz then a small 2"x 3 1/2" of Perfect Plum and stamped the sentiment from Vintage Vogue stamp set in Sahara Sand Ink. Then I added a 1" x 5 1/2" strip of Greenhouse Gala DSP in the Baja Breeze print. Topped off the card with a Paper Daisy sprayed with White shimmer Smooch Spritz and then put a Baja Breeze Vintage Flower Adornment in the center.

I made this card tonight using the Stamping 411 Super Saturday Sketch:)

I started with a base of Whisper White then added a layer of Always Artichoke with the bottom edge punched with the Scallop Trim Edge Punch. Then topped that with another Whisper White layer punched the same way and stamped the tree and sentiment (Thoughts and Prayers). I wrapped these with Chocolate Chip Ribbon. Inks were Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. All items Stampin' UP!

Challenge Sketch LO - GYSO 1

I did this LO with photos from my trip to Arizona this past August. The sketch sure lent itself to my Bisbee photos.

The "B" on the mountain in the middle circle is the "Bisbee B" that really is on the mountain! I added a small amount of journaling at the bottom after I took the photo. I used Sahara Sand,Cajun Craze, and Pacific Point Cardstocks (Stampin' UP!) and the Patterned paper is Blueberry Crisp DSP from Stampin' UP!

I've been workin...found some great deals on a few items while out shopping the other day! One of those "deals" was this set of hanging baskets...thanks to my sis in law that put them together the way I wanted them:)

In the top basket there are my replacement adhesives, the middle has retired SU Ribbon, and the bottom has current SU ribbon (plus a few retired) and SU Embellies:)

I also got my Ikea rails put up to hold my punches and such:

Well I've had these cut files ready for about a month but finally got around to getting the vinyl cut and put up on my walls:)

Entering the studio I finally put the name on the door:)

Thank You Notes

Here are a few Thank You Notes I made this afternoon :)

This one is just kinda neat...I used Whisper White base then added a layer of Bashful Blue and some of the Playdate DSP then I stamped the sentiment in Real Red on a Bashful Blue label, using the Beacause I Care level 1 Hostess set and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch and added a couple of Basic Pearls at the ends of the label. I also used the Scalloped Border Punch to make a Bashful Blue scallop"ribbon" to go across the card.

This one my sissy helped me pic the colors:) I started with a Whisper White Base then added a layer of Bashful Blue with Real Red inked edges then added Playdate DSP and a retired "Mistletoe" ribbon topped with a Bashful Blue Scalloped Circle and a Real Red circle with the sentiment stamped using the Because I Care level 1 Hostess set in Whisper White Craft Ink.

This card started with a base of So Saffron, followed by a layer of Playdate DSP and that is edged with the other side of the DSP punched with the Scalloped Edge Punch. I added a rectangle of the DSP and a Modern Label Punch of So Saffron stamped with sentiment in Real Red ink from the Because I Care level 1 Hostess set.

One Resolution in progress

Ok ok so I know New Years Resolutions are uhm well expected, right? Well as always I resolved to work on studio j so I decided to get a head start on the New Year....I moved out the HUGE table and pulled in two smaller width tables and placed them on different walls to allow for more workable space:) I have a "Sewing/Cutting" area which houses the Sewing Machine, Cutting Mat and large cthru ruler/guide, sewing items, Miss Jorja(my Expression), my large guillotine cutter, and even the laminator found a home on a shelf above the sewing items. The printer is in the corner for those times I want to print out the journaling for my pages....

and the Main worktable:

with my daylight lamp, and all my supplies right at my fingertips:) see Mr. Bigshot there on the table that is to remind me to use it to emboss more often! I even have my wrist guard there to remind me to use it when scrapping and cardmaking so I don't overwork that wrist too much!

My inks are in an old cassette rack I found at a thrift store but I'm about to outgrow it! See the cute lil garbage bag I won from Funky Joy? Isn't it cute! I love that I can have it handy for all the little things like tabs and teensy scraps:) I also have a small shelving unit off to the left of my chair here at this worktable it is filled with Stampin' UP! Stamp sets and Wheels:) I have another set of shelves next to those that house my Stampin' UP! and Thirty-One business items and Catalogs. The closets hold my paper collection in racks I purchased when our LSS went out of business.

LOL Ok cheesy...but I found these water bottles (really good ones!) on a HUGE markdown and decided I would spruce them up a bit with some "permanent" outdoor strength vinyl for Christmas Gifts for our cousins:) They have several dogs hence the "Dog Mom" and the Mr loves his BMW. :)

Christmas Buckets

To package up all the cookies and candies for the fellas at the shop, we put them in these cute lil buckets we found at the $ store.

The buckets are all personalized with a white paint pen. I wrapped all the packages of cookies and candies in the red and green tissue paper and put them down in the buckets. The one small brown package is a cute lil gift box I picked up thru the Clearance Rack at StampinUP!. I personalized the front with the office gal's name:)

Our house will be a buzz of activity starting this afternoon! We will be doing a Christmas Cookie Course LOL Ok so not a course I guess but it will be a marathon of sorts hope to get all my baking done by Friday and get the packages delivered at the end of this week:) I'm soooo psyched! I need a quick trip to one of our fav stores to pick up more cookie bags and we're gonna make our own tags and use pretty Christmas Ribbon to tie each bag:) I think they'll be a hit!

I am loving our tree this year...its not anything grand and glorious...its not a "designer" tree and nothing matches...it's all covered in mismatched ornaments...and we just LOVE it! All the ornaments have a meaning behind them all of them are either handed down, gifted to us, or handmade by our crew...every year our kids do a Birthday Card for Jesus and then they put them on the tree:) It's one of our "traditions" like having Red "Velva" Cake with special icing baked from scratch by Grammy...and candles and singing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas day...Red Velvet cake will always be Red Velva Cake to us:) Started when the kiddos were teeny and couldn't pronounce everything...:)

All fixed up for Christmas....The JOY was made by me using some mdf letters from HL a few years back that we originally painted white and used in the JOY photo of my kiddos for that years card...the shelf was a wedding gift from some very good friends from church and the candles are cute lil led candles from the $ store put into some great tealight holders given to us last year at Christmas:)

Of well LIFE:) Thankful to be mostly healthy this season! I have a bit of congestion but nothing major and thankful for great family and friends that love us. I will have more photos of decorations up this week...my eldest DD and I are going to work on a couple other areas that need some attention and then I'll grab some pics and post for ya'll! I LOVE Christmas! We finally got a bit of snow...I like it just don't like being out in it...I'd much rather have flip flop weather! LOL BUT....if we have to have bare trees and dreary days then send on the Snow! It helps cheer up the blahs:)

Here are a few more lil Christmas things I thought I'd share....

This lil bowl of ornaments sits next to the lighted glass blocks on our side table in the Dining Room. I found the lil green bowl in a 4 pack for just 50 cents and I got the mini ornaments at the $ store in just the right shades to go with the ribbon I had left over from last Christmas.

3 of the Christmas bulbs from the $ store in just the right shade of red...I LOVE red!

These are a coupl of the LED candles I altered with some vinyl. I wasn't thinking, obviously, as I didn't have the LED on while taking the photo! We took a piece of greenery from our tree and put around the candles on our stairwell.

They actually are the same color but the angle of the pictures and the lighting

sure make them look different.

Perty Lights

As my girls tell me...Momma them are sure perty. LOL Yes they are educated and know that isn't the correct word, but it sure is fun!

I made the front block last year and then I made the one behind it this year:) The back one is much more narrow and a bit taller than last year's block. I love these! Soooo "perty".

My Mantle

Yes that's right I said mantle! I have taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging thru November as I was SWAMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still pretty busy but now have enough time to at least grab some pics and enjoy the season! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas! Here is my front room mantle:) My hubby built it for me the year we moved in here as our fireplace didn't have a mantle. I added the vinyl established saying this past year. This is my first ever attempt at truly doing a "Christmas Mantle".....so here it is...

The details:

Mantle shelf built by my sweetheart:) Est. saying made by me and added this year. The window was in my growing up home until this last summer when my parents got new windows and I snagged the ones they took out...yes its weathered from being out in my "stash" of stuff I wanna use eventually.

The stars have been gathered thru th elast few years as I LOVE stars and they are my main decor year round. The one in the center tho I must share as it was a BARGAIN! I found it at a thrift shop last weekend for just 50 cents! I couldn't pass that up! I found the sweet goldish ornaments at the $ store . The Angel is from Germany a gift from our cousins. The lil Santa was a wedding gift from my parents and was handmade and personalized just for me and my sweetie! The greenery is just some garland from the $ store and I made the twine/fabric garland a few years ago and this year decided we'd use the shiny stuff on the tree (kids begged), so it was available for my Mantle:) The bows were tied by me with some cute holly printed gold ribbon from the $ store. SO I've spent well lets see probably about $2.50 on this Mantlescape! Gotta love it!

Quick update for ya'll who are so great to follow my blog...
The one that was ill is better three others had the tummy bug and are over it and now yup you guessed it the momma has it now:( But rest assured I did get to go to the SU Demo meeting and learned how to use my brayer! I will be workin up a pictorial on brayering...tho I'm nowhere near great at it...just that I learned a lil and others have asked me to share what I picked up from Ann showing us some tips...I hope to be feeling much better tomorrow...as of now I have the cut files designed for Thanksgiving Decorations, the Christmas Card Photo for this year is in the works and will have that photo shoot upcoming in the next week or so...I miss ya'll and miss sharing projects but Lord willing I'll have some new ones up soon!

I've been working and working...I'll try to post some pics tomorrow too dark right now to take them. I finished up two more glass blocks filled with mini garland, ornaments, white lights, etc...I now have four of those trying to decide if they need vinyl or etching. or if they should just stay plain...anyhoo...I also got a couple calendar covers made. Moving along:) By Thursday I need to have everything ready for the fundraiser sale:)

Here are some Mini Legal Pad covers and pen holders. I am going to make some pens to match the covers to put with each one.

These are both made with a base of Always Artichoke CS(SU) and Patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash.

both of these inside look like this:

The green one is a Base of Always Artichoke (SU) CS and the outer layer is a piece of patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter Stash. The blue one is Not Quite Navy CS(SU) and a layer of more of my Christmas/Winter Stash.

The Red is a base of Real Red Textured CS (SU and a layer of retired DSP (SU), The blue is a piece of CS from my stash and Patterned paper layer from my Christmas/Winter stash.

Has a starting base of Always Artichoke CS and a layer of Greenhouse Gala DSP punched down both sides with the Scalloped Trim Edge Punch all from SU. I used some orange stickles to highlight the orange in the DSP.

More Christmas Cards

Yup that's right...more Christmas Cards. I'm hoping some of these will sell for the Fundraiser:)

These two are both made from Kraft Cardstock Base with Patterned Paper from my Christmas/Winter stash. I then used Hemp Twine and Kraft Cardstock and some Bluish CS from my stash to make the Circles which I popped up with Dimensionals. I used my SU White Gel pen for the faux stitching and the hand lettering on the sentiments.

For these next two I started with a base of Kraft Cardstock and rounded the bottom corners. I then layered a part of Patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash and a bit of Cherry Cobbler (SU) Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Come To Bethlehem(SU) set in Old Olive Ink. I wrapped each with Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon(SU)

and the next two:

both made from Kraft CS base and the same piece of patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash as above. Again I used Cherry Cobbler(SU) CS and then wrapped with Very Vanilla(SU) Ribbon and stamped each with the sentiment from Come To Bethlehem (SU) set.

Then I made two of this one:

It's base is a blueish cardstock from my stash with a layer of kraft cs and patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash and layered with a Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon(SU) and punched two circles and layered them using dimensionals. I used my SU White Gel pen to handwrite the sentiment and the edges of the circle:)

and then these three:

and they are all a base of Kraft Cardstock and the layers are patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash. I stamped the sentiment from All Holidays(SU) in Old Olive Ink and then used the Ticket Corner Punch on the corners. Old Olive dotted ribbon(su) wraps each one:)

This last one I made using a base of Kraft cardstock as well (see a trend here?)

I layered a piece of Certainly Celerey(SU) CS and then put a layer of a piece of patterned paper from my Christmas/Winter stash then stamped the sentiment from Come To Bethlehem(SU) set twice in Cherry Cobbler(SU) Ink. I tied a cute lil bow out of red hemp twine (ret SU) and adhered with a mini glue dot between the sentiments. It is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card:) and most certainly my favorite of todays card making:)

Birthday Banners...

My mom is celebrating her 60th birthdy this week and my oldest daughter just celebrated her 13th birthday yesterday. We had a surprise party for my mom and boy was she surprised!

This banner is made from Cameo Coral and Barely Banana Cardstock (both retired) and So Saffron Ribbon all from Stampin' UP!

I created the banner pieces with Celebrations and Hello Kitty Font

These are just a couple of sections of Mom's banner but you get the idea:) I used Kiwi Kiss(ret) and So Saffron Cardstock. The ribbon is So Saffron. Stampin' UP!

Very Thankful

My oldest daughter dictaed the items to use for this card. She designed it and I did the work...I wouldn't let her touch it as she has what we think is the Chicken Pox :/

The base is Cajun Craze and a layer of retired apricot appeal punched with the pretty scalloped eyelet edge punch. I then layered some retired autumn DSP and the stamped image from retired Happy Blessings set. I stamped it on Very Vanilla Cardstock in Early Espresso and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used my SU markers to color in the image and we mounted the Modern Label tag in retired Close to Cocoa CS stamped with Early Espresso ink the Very Thankful from retired set. Then we added some orange bling from my stash to "spice" it up a bit:)

PCS Challenge 17

I made this card with inspiration from the inspiration photo on PaperCraftStar Challenge 17 inspiraion photo is:

I'm not a halloween person tho this tablecloth is adorable! Needless to say I took my inspiration from the tablecloth in the photo.

I used River Rock CS as my base then added scraps from my stash. I punched the scalloped strip with the SU Scallop Edge punch and I used some retired CS and stamped the sentiment from Whimsical Words stamp set in garden green ink and punched it with the scalloped circle punch and layered that on a Very Vanilla Scalloped Circle and popped it up with dimensionals. I sewed with apricot colored thread from my stash with the zigzag stitch. I hope ya'll enjoy this card. The colors to me are so soothing.

Feelin like Fall

I am loving the fall colors and the cool breeze in the air and watching the leaves change colors then falling...The new Get Sketchy #60 Sketch just screamed an Autumn Quilt to me....Here is my take on the sketch:

I used the new Cajun Craze CS as my base then I used some scraps from my stash to make the "quilt like" pieces and a scalloped square punched out of River Rock CS with the sentiment from Happy Blessings(ret) in Early Espresso ink.

Fast Card!

This card went together SUPER fast! I used the Card Patterns Sketch #85 and made this card:

I started with a base of Early Espresso CS then I used a piece of DSP from last years Christmas Simply Scrappin kit. I cut a 2 1/2" circle and cut it in half out of Early Espresso to make the sides. I then took a strip of printed CS stickers and cut to fit my dsp layer for the strip across the middle then I used a die cut sticker from that same set with Dasher on it as the center. I then grabbed a glitter pen from my stash and highlighted Dasher's antlers and the bold white snowflakes on the the DSP. An easy yet elegant card!

I also made two more cards using the same sketch and the same retired simply scrappin kit only with Real Red and Old Olive Cardstocks:)

Post It Note Holders

As ya'll know I'm doing a shopping night next month and I am making some items to try to sell to raise some money for My Dad's church's Christian School. Soooo....here is today's contribution to my table!

These three are all the same and I didn't grab a pic but inside there are sunflowers on the post it notes:)

I used Summer Sun CS(ret) Whisper White CS punched with the Scalloped Circle punch, Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black inks, Old Olive Ribbon, Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets and the Scalloped Trim Edge Punch. The ladybug is from the Perfect Match stamp set.

For this one I started with a base of More Mustard CS, The patterned paper is a retired DSP from either Autumn of 08 or 09. I used the Ticket Corner punch on the first layer then I punched a scalloped circle with the dsp and mounted the Give Thanks stamp from the Happy Blessings (retired set) which I stamped on Baja Breeze CS stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink. I used Chocolate Chip ribbon threaded thru the Jumbo Antique Brass Eyelets.

Again I used More Mustard CS as my base and the retired autumn DSP for the layer used the same punches and colors of cs and ink and ribbon and eyelets. The leaf stamp is from the Perfect Match stamp set.

And yes you guessed it! More Mustard CS, same DSP and other CS and ribbon and eyelets but this time I used the pumpkin from the Happy Blessings (ret set) and stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink:)

Clean & Simple 111 Challenge Sketch

I started with a base of Crumb Cake CS then layered Cherry Cobbler CS and more Crumb Cake then a layer of patterned paper from my stash that made me just want to cuddle up in a cover and added the gorgeous birds stamp from the Northern Hearts hostess level 1 set in the Holiday Mini. I also added a scrap of Crumb Cake Ribbon and a vintage brad. Simple yet warm:)

I made three more cards for the Stamping 411 #172 Challenge:) I'm in LOVE with the Candy Cane Christmas DSP from Stampin' UP! These cards were super fast to make and I just think they're adorable! Ok that's just my opinion tho...

Lemon Squeezy....ok so this card was super simple! I posted it over at {Stampspiration} it's based on a sketch over at Stamping 411

I used sketch #172 for their current challenge and started with a base of Crumb Cake Cardstock. I then put a layer of Baja Breeze Cardstock wrapped with some Real Red Satin Ribbon. I used dimensionals to pop up the next layer of Crumb Cake with a small section of Candy Cane Christmas DSP. I then used the Merry Christmas stamp from "Come to Bethlehem" set. I stamped it using Real Red Ink.

Card for Friend - and a challenge

I made this card for a friend of mine that inspires me with her kindness and encouragement:) I used the Get Sketchy #59 Challenge Sketch.

I used Crumb Cake CS for the base, layered a piece of Riding Hood Red Cardstock which I punched both sides with the Scalloped Trim Border Punch. On top of this I placed a scrap of Love Letter DSP. I then used the Scalloped Circle Punch to punch out 4 Riding Hood Red scalloped circles. These I wet down and crumpled then layered and put together with a brad which is hidden by the "button" I made with Very Vanilla Cardstock and red twine. The sentiment is from the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set.

it actually arrived the other day but I've not had time to get a pic and post on here! Sooooooo....here it is! isn't it just GORGEOUS?? I'll be the most stylin gal at our next crop! It has a "laminated" fabric inside which can wipe clean if any sticky stuff is in there! SOOOOO excited!

Serenity Scrappers Color Challenge

I did this LO for my AZ book and I'm entering it into the Serenity Scrappers Color Challenge:) The challenge is to use Blue, Purple and Green in a LO. I did this with one of the gorgeous sky photos from AZ. Azure means "purplish blue" and that fits that sky!

A Closeup shows the Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Old Olive Cardstock, some patterned paper that had just the right shades of blue and purple to go with the photo (pp from my stash). I used some Old Olive retired ribbon and Old Olive ink. The outlines are done in a pale blue stickles and I added some pale blue rhinestones from my stash:)

A Birthday Card

Yes I really made one! I know I've been very very bad and bought a few this month, but they just "fit" the recipients' personalities:) This one also does but I knew she would appreciate the handmade element:) Its not my greatest layering, but I am getting better with it:) I flipped and welded the Kitty from Celebrations and made the shadow the actual card using Whisper White CS. I then used Basic Gray for the Kitty's head and Pear Pizzaz for the hat. I used several shades of stickles for the hat...I also added some googley eyes I had in my stash:) I used Basic Black ink and stamped the sentiment fom Whimsical Words.

and this cute lil kitty wasn't complete without a pinked up nose and some red for his mouth and a bit of black highlights or would they be lowlights...well anyhow he's all ready and drying and waiting to be given to my SIL who is a cat lover! I hope she enjoys this lil guy as much as I enjoyed making him for her:)

I finally finished up the AZ Lo's I posted partially done the other day:) And for your viewing pleasure LO #1:

This LO all I did was cut the AZ shape from Early Espresso CS with 50 States and the lil buffalo skull (I added some glaze to make it shiny) to mark the area of Tombstone AZ. I did the title with Don Juan and welded it all together then I cut it from Crumb Cake CS. I inked the title with Early Espresso and some Chocolate Chip Ink as well. The photos are double matted with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. The background paper looks like the wooden sidewalks in Tombstone and is from my stash. I used some retired red hemp twine from SU and tied knots in it to finish off the top and bottom of the page.

And....LO #2

I used some patterned paper from my stash got at a craft store while shopping with ScrappinJoy this summer:) I cut the title in Vanilla Vinyl as to help with adhering to the LO. The journaling is at the very bottom . And so you can see better I took some closeups:)

In this one you can see how I did the journaling.

In these two it is a closeup of the vinyl title. Title is from an old Hymn that I love "Rock of Ages".

This LO features the Sunsets in Arizona:)

I used More Mustard CS for the base page then I added the photos all cropped down to fit. I then used Basic Black and Cajun Craze CS and cut the Arizona in regular and shadow from 50States and layered them. I then used Black Vinyl and cut the sunsets from Calligraphy. I then layered that over the Arizona to make my Arizona Sunsets title for the page. I just love how this turned out:)

Here is a pic of the TY Note I made Sunday afternoon. I think it turned out kinda nice. I started with a blank Whisper White Notecard and added a piece of Retired Soft Suede DSP and punched a scalloped circle from Soft Suede Cardstock. Stamped the Thank You from a retired SU set in Soft Suede ink on Whisper White CS and punched it out with a circle punch. I put a strip of whisper white ribbon across the dsp and layered the circle on the scalloped circle with dimensionals then with adhesive I layered that combination over the ribbon off to the left.

but not a "goodie"...Someone ( I think it was Missy, but can't remember for sure) posted recently about how we usually scrap "happy" "good" things...I remembered this LO and another that I did when we were dealing with the loss of Buddy. I still remember the sadness of the day and the long faces. This LO I made after we buried our beloved Buddy B Bunny that we were trying to save. Our then 2 yo Lab dug up a nest of bunnies...the others were all dead but we tried to save "Buddy" we weren't able to save the poor lil fella:( We had a very sad morning and had a funeral and burial and even made a cross from popsicle sticks and put flowers over his grave. It was a sad sad day:(

A quick look at my all natural curls this am:) Its usually FRIZZ city! I almost always straighten it or pull back into a pony or small bun. I am trying a new method I saw on Raising Olives first and followed some links along the way read what "plopping" is....amazingly it WORKED! I never get anything but frizz unless I use TONS of product and get a perm to control it...This is ALL NATURAL! I did put a small amount of gel on my hair and scrunched it then "plopped" it and slept all night and woke to these beautiful curls that aren't frizzy! We shall see how the day progresses! Now to remember what it's like to deal with curls again....Hmmmmm well at least the back is cute:)

I have over 140 photos arriving this week from our AZ trip...Trying to decide what type of album to make....Should I do a traditional 12x12, 8x8 or should I try to make a shaped album using the 50 States cart? Or should I try something totally different and make a flip book or something of the sort?!? Sooo many options....well I'm pondering these options while waiting think I'll pull out the gypsy and play around:)

We want to send notes to all the folks out in AZ and I picked up this stamp at a local craft shop out there it was made right near there in Tucson AZ...I couldn't resist! I'm sure you will see this image repeatedly in the AZ album:)

I had a blast out in AZ with my sis and her family!

First AZ Sunset just gorgeous this was taken from my sister's front yard!

First AZ Sunrise! Ok so I rose after the sun but this was just gorgeous!

We took a trip to Bisbee...interesting town but pretty from up on the mountain:)

We went to the Chiricahua National Park one day and WOWWWWWWW

Home Made Chicken Nuggets/ Chick Fil A Style

Yep I did it...my friend Ashlee told me about this recipe for Chick Fil A nuggets .

I tried it out tonight:) For my crew I doubled the recipe and served with some mac n cheese and a salad. AND We still have enough nuggets left to have some for lunch tomorrow:)

Just had to share:) I didn't get any furniture moved around yet for those of you just waiting to hear:) LOL maybe tomorrow after I "can" yes I said "can" the Cinnimon Pickles....recipe and pics to come on that!

Christmas Time?!?

I did take a few min in my studio this morning...I worked on a couple ideas floatin in my head for my Christmas Cards this year...I am still working on the main card ideas I know the image I'm using just not sure how I want to do it...I did get a sentiment for the cards stamped and punched out this morning:) Now the house is a wreck and needs some attention and I still don't know how to rearrange to make the airflow better in this front room...Hmmmm...one tiny vent and its at the baseboard near a doorway and a cold air return vent on the other side of the room neither can be covered tho both are obstructed at the moment with the current placement.

I'm feeling overwhelmed!!!!!!!!! with this living room! LOL I am crowded and its a small area already! I would love to take and add onto this room but that isn't possible...I have exactly enough seats for our family...so can't lose any of that...the piano could move to the dining room and may before this week is out! It's HOT and I want to open the airconditioned air traffic routes and having issues...maybe tomorrow we'll do some movin around! Maybe I should just go up to the studio and play so I don't see this area right now?!?

A Sparkly Birthday Card

My MIL's bday card:) She LOVES hydrangeas and she loves sparkles...so I made her a sparkly hydrangea:)

The Card base is Regal Rose with layers of Whisper White and Old Olive Cardstock.

I used Melon Mambo and Old Olive inks.

The ribbon is a retired Old Olive/Whisper White dotted.

I used the new Rhinestones from SU and Dazling Diamonds Glitter.

I used the Because I Care and Well Scripted Stamp Sets.

I shaded the Hydrangea with Chocolate Chip Watercolor Wonder Crayon and Blender Pen.

The sentiment was stamped with Old Olive ink onto Regal Rose Cardstock

and punched with the Scalloped Oval Punch.

For those of you wondering who Jorja is...she's my big electronic cutter! LOL And she's been a cuttin away today! I've sent over 25 sheets of 12 x18 paper thru her today and she's cut out beautiful silhouettes for me! I finished sewing up the Big Ball cover and got a couple of computer files and cut files made today! Not too bad! I also did 5 loads of laundry! Not bad for a lil ol stay at home momma huh?!?

I do have alot of thread:) In my defense I did inherit all but like 4 rolls of it from my grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and always had the right color thread for EVERYTHING! I also received her fabric, buttons, sewing trinkets AND her sewing machine. I'm thankful to have sat with her for many many hours watching her sew and create and put photos into albums and cook...she was truly my inspiration! Her handiwork still inspires me!

Granted thankfully some of these are just computer generated Banners I just have to put them together and put them up:) But some are going to be handmade by me:) and my crew of slaves **errr I mean helpers** he hehe

I came home with two bags full of PAPER! yep PAPER you know my addiction....**looking shamefacedly toward the floor** I even already have plans for some of it:) I took my camera and TOTALLY forgot to grab it and have my girls snap a pic of the two of us! Meeting Up With....

*nervously approaching* the time to MEET a dear friend in person! I am blessed today to be meeting up with my dear creative friend, from Pieces of Paper Forum, Joyce! Why am I nervous??? I sure don't know! I guess just the anticipation of meeting someone face to face, wondering if my kiddos will behave like I know they can, will she like me? Will I be who she expects to see? Silly I guess...we've exchanged pictures, we know what each other looks like. We've chit chatted on the forum and the chat area.

My dd had her tonsils removed last Thursday :( she's had a rough time trying to get over the anestesia. I think that probably has added to my nervousness. We are so excited to get to meet up with Joyce:) Going to Crafty stores and I'll probably (if H is up to it) hit the GoodWill store while in the big city ;)

I just LOVE this picture! The lighting was perfect and the shadows fell just right and the reflection in the water....the beautiful LillyPad with the HUGE bloom just caught my attention while we were strolling near the reflecting pond.

Crafty Momma...have a Challenge!

I tried my hand at freezer paper stencils:) The stencil worked great! unfortunately this momma tried a new product (to me anyhow, Fabric spray paint...textured....Ok so I'm not great at that part! I have an idea to make my "mistake" a Happy Accident that turns into a great creative project:)

Here is how the stencil area turned out:

Mom to the 5th power:) Since I have five kiddos I've become a mom 5 times:) Saw this idea on a shirt site somewhere sorry can't remember it was a late night looking for something totally different and saw the mom to the power of 1, 2, 3 etc...thought COOL I'm mom , power of 5:)

NOW to show you my "mistake":

See I was sooo smart! I didn't account for "overspray"! Sooooo...I know the next time to cover the ENTIRE front of the shirt that isn't in the stencil when using the Spray Fabric paint...and I also picked up some regular fabric paint and stipple brushes at a local crafty area and am gonna try it again on another shirt with the stencil and that method and see if I like that better...Either way I've learned something:)

NOW for the Challenge!

What should I do with that big blank box around the main image????? Should I try to stencil in some flowers, swirls, anything or should I just make more "overspray" around the image? Ideas?!?

Leave me a comment here please with any ideas...

I'll have a 6x6 sample pack of retired SU cardstock colors and retired DSPs to send to the most creative, ingenius "Fix"!

If I have trouble choosing we'll have a vote!

...because I did two more LO's! Can you even believe it?!? I'm workin my way thru that STACK of pictures that York sent right out to me! I used a this Pagemaps Sketch as my starting point:

"Cartwheels" popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals:) I cut the little green flowers out of another sheet of printed paper I had in my stash from pre SU days and stickled them and popped them up with Dimensionals too:) I used the TopNote Die to make the journaling items:) The patterned paper is from my pre SU stash and the Cardstock is Green Galore and Pretty in Pink.

The 2nd LO is based on the same sketch for one of my other dd's books:)

This LO was also patterned paper from pre SU stash. The Cardstock is SU Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore. I used some cute little "skittles" from my stash to embellish:) Top Note die was used again to make these journaling tabs. I popped up the title with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I finally got to go to a crop a couple weeks ago! I cleaned up the studio today and finally took some pics for ya'll of these lil layouts for my nephew's book:) Not great pics but at least I can share these with ya'll now:) I'm so excited to have my studio back that I think I may even scrap a few min before bed tonight!

My York photo orders have shipped! I uploaded to them yesterday mid morning and they sent shipping notices for both by 3am today! WOW Can't wait to see them I ordered over 200 prints! I hadn't printed since before Easter! We've had Easter, three birthdays, some family gatherings and church activities and picnics and spring fun! Now I will have pics to scrap the summer away and snap pics all summer to scrap this fall:) Wooo Hooo...my friend and super scrapper Marigold (Liz) has made a couple of super awesome word books lately that have inspired me! I want to make some name books for my newest nephew and also for HIS (yep he's an uncle) nephew and neice! I'm going to get to meet them all when I go to see my sister in just 64 days! I've got alot of work to get done! Can hardly wait but first I must clean this house and get laundry going then I can play in the studio:)
